Michael joined Summer Harmony at the beginning of the season as its accompanist. A recent graduate of Moravian College in Bethlehem with a degree in Music Composition, summa cum laude, Mike is very much at home with the boys of summer. As a composer, his choral work Midnight won the Bach Choir of Bethlehem’s Young Composers Competition in 2013; and his clarinet concerto, Visions Unbroken, written in memory of Allison Perno (daughter of Moravian Campus Safety Officer, Joseph Perno) premiered in November 2014. In addition to composition, his two summer research projects on a modern edition of Johann Adolf Hasse’s La Spartana Generosa have taken him to Leipzig, Germany and Vancouver, British Columbia.

In the fall of 2016, Mike will be attending Binghamton University (SUNY) for his Masters Degree in Music with a double major in

composition and collaborative piano. He looks forward to teaching, perhaps at the college level in the not too distant future. We are delighted to have Mike as a member of the Summer Harmony family.
